The Star of Honolulu will take guests on a trip far past the shores of Hawaii with a blend of storytelling, music and dance in its powerful new show, “My Hawai’i – Beyond the Reef®.” The performance is an artistic fusion of Kahiko (ancient hula) and ‘Auana (modern hula) with authentic dances from New Zealand, Tahiti and Samoa. Sections of the show were created by ethnic dance choreographers Valetta Egypt Nepia Jermia of New Zealand, and Manarii and Nalini Gauthier of Tahiti, and brought to life with beautiful costumes by designer Kathe James.
